Superb original set of 6 Vintage 1950’s Gian Franco Legler wicker & rare chromed steel ‘Basket ‘ chairs.
Gian Franco Legler (Switzerland, 1922) was a Swiss-Italian industrial designer. Legler was born in Switzerland and grew up in Italy. He studied architecture in Zurich. In the early 1950s Legler studied in the United States and specialized in industrial design. First in Boston and then in Chicago, then at the center of industrial design. He later directed his design studio there. In 1961 he returned to Zurich, where he continued to work as a designer until 2007. Legler is the designer of the Basket Chair since 1951.
